Short description

Magnolia stellata ‘Royal Star’ is a compact, deciduous shrub or small tree that produces masses of fragrant, double white star-shaped flowers in early spring, often before the leaves appear. These blooms are larger and fuller than the standard stellata variety, making it a striking feature in the garden. Foliage is mid-green, turning yellow before falling in autumn. It typically grows to around 2.5–3m tall and wide over 10–20 years.

This magnolia prefers moist, well-drained, slightly acidic to neutral soil and thrives best in a sunny or partially shaded, sheltered spot—especially away from harsh winds and late frosts, which can damage buds. It’s ideal for borders, small gardens, or large containers. No regular pruning is needed—just remove any dead or damaged branches after flowering. Mulch annually with well-rotted compost or leaf mould in spring to retain moisture and feed the plant.

We only operate in a select area of East & West Sussex​ and are unable to send items across the UK.

Placing an Online Order with Goldcliff Garden Centre

Once you have added your items to the basket, you can continue to secure checkout and make payments via credit or debit card. All payments are processed via Apple Pay, Google Pay, Credit Card, Debit Card and PayPal.

Click and Collect

We offer a click-and-collect service for those who would like to collect from us directly. Collection times are between 8:30 am and 6 pm - 7 days a week.

We ask you to have a copy of your order confirmation to hand, either printed or on a mobile device.

Please do not come to collect your order unless you have received a ‘ready to be collected’ email, as it may not be ready immediately. We strive to get all click and collect orders together within 2 hours, but sometimes this is not possible.

Local Deliveries

Local Deliveries are sent out on a first-come-first-served basis. There is no minimum order, but there is a fee for all orders that start at £10 and increase as you get further away from our centre. 

We offer curbside/driveway drop-off only. 

Additional charges may apply for large or heavy items.
