'Apricot Gem' is a standout variety of Broom, prized for its exceptionally warm and luminous colour palette. In May and June, the slender, arching green stems are almost entirely hidden by masses of fragrant, butterfly-shaped blooms. The flowers feature a beautiful blend of coppery-orange and soft apricot, creating a glowing effect in the garden. Its small, inconspicuous green leaves allow the architectural "rush-like" stems to take centre stage.

This hardy shrub is perfect for adding a burst of Mediterranean style to sunny borders, rock gardens, or coastal landscapes. It is remarkably drought-tolerant once established and thrives in poor, well-drained soils where other shrubs might struggle. To maintain a neat, bushy habit and prevent the plant from becoming woody and leggy, it should be lightly pruned immediately after flowering—taking care not to cut back into old, leafless wood. To ensure the best establishment, especially in sandy soils, we recommend using Rootgrow when planting.
