Short description

Acer palmatum ‘Shaina’ is a compact, upright Japanese maple known for its rich red foliage and tidy, rounded habit. The deeply lobed leaves emerge bright red in spring, deepen to maroon in summer, and finish the season with fiery crimson tones in autumn. Its dense growth and smaller size make it perfect for smaller gardens, patios, or growing in containers.

It typically grows to around 1.5–2m tall and 1–1.5m wide. Prefers partial shade or dappled sun in a sheltered position, away from cold, drying winds. Plant in moist but well-drained, slightly acidic soil enriched with organic matter. Avoid hot afternoon sun, which may scorch the leaves. Water regularly during dry spells, especially in its first few years or when grown in pots. Mulch in spring to retain moisture. Prune only to remove dead or crossing branches in late autumn or winter.

We only operate in a select area of East & West Sussex​ and are unable to send items across the UK.

Placing an Online Order with Goldcliff Garden Centre

Once you have added your items to the basket, you can continue to secure checkout and make payments via credit or debit card. All payments are processed via Apple Pay, Google Pay, Credit Card, Debit Card and PayPal.

Click and Collect

We offer a click-and-collect service for those who would like to collect from us directly. Collection times are between 8:30 am and 6 pm - 7 days a week.

We ask you to have a copy of your order confirmation to hand, either printed or on a mobile device.

Please do not come to collect your order unless you have received a ‘ready to be collected’ email, as it may not be ready immediately. We strive to get all click and collect orders together within 2 hours, but sometimes this is not possible.

Local Deliveries

Local Deliveries are sent out on a first-come-first-served basis. There is no minimum order, but there is a fee for all orders that start at £10 and increase as you get further away from our centre. 

We offer curbside/driveway drop-off only. 

Additional charges may apply for large or heavy items.
