Dog friendly'Red Dream' is a versatile and reliable garden favourite, particularly prized for its compact and slow-growing habit. Unlike larger Escallonias, this variety stays small and manageable, making it an excellent choice for a low hedge, path edging, or a structural component in a rock garden. From June to August, it produces a profusion of small, bell-shaped flowers in a vibrant shade of ruby-red that pollinators, especially bees, find irresistible.
The foliage is equally attractive—small, ovate, and highly polished, providing a solid green presence year-round. It is exceptionally tough and is a classic choice for coastal gardens, as it shrugs off salt spray and sea winds with ease. It thrives in full sun but will tolerate partial shade, provided the soil is well-drained. To maintain its tidy shape, it can be lightly trimmed after flowering. To ensure it establishes a deep, drought-resistant root system, we recommend using Rootgrow when planting.

Placing an Online Order with Goldcliff Garden Centre
Once you have added your items to the basket, you can continue to secure checkout and make payments via credit or debit card. All payments are processed via Apple Pay, Google Pay, Credit Card, Debit Card and PayPal.

Click and Collect
We offer a click-and-collect service for those who would like to collect from us directly. Collection times are between 8:30 am and 6 pm - 7 days a week.
We ask you to have a copy of your order confirmation to hand, either printed or on a mobile device.
Please do not come to collect your order unless you have received a ‘ready to be collected’ email, as it may not be ready immediately. We strive to get all click and collect orders together within 2 hours, but sometimes this is not possible.
Local Deliveries
Local Deliveries are sent out on a first-come-first-served basis. There is no minimum order, but there is a fee for all orders that start at £10 and increase as you get further away from our centre.
We offer curbside/driveway drop-off only.
Additional charges may apply for large or heavy items.
