Dog friendlyThis magnificent native tree is often used to create colourful, formal hedging. The leaves emerge a deep, dark purple in spring, reddish-purple in summer, and finally turn a glowing copper in autumn. Like green beech, it holds onto its crisp, brown leaves throughout the winter, providing excellent screening and wind protection until new growth pushes them off in spring.
It creates a beautiful contrast when planted alongside Green Beech or gold-variegated shrubs like Euonymus. It thrives in a sunny or partially shaded spot with well-drained soil but will not tolerate waterlogged ground. To ensure rapid establishment, we recommend using Rootgrow when planting. To promote vigorous growth, apply a balanced feed like Levington Growmore in early spring.

Placing an Online Order with Goldcliff Garden Centre
Once you have added your items to the basket, you can continue to secure checkout and make payments via credit or debit card. All payments are processed via Apple Pay, Google Pay, Credit Card, Debit Card and PayPal.

Click and Collect
We offer a click-and-collect service for those who would like to collect from us directly. Collection times are between 8:30 am and 6 pm - 7 days a week.
We ask you to have a copy of your order confirmation to hand, either printed or on a mobile device.
Please do not come to collect your order unless you have received a ‘ready to be collected’ email, as it may not be ready immediately. We strive to get all click and collect orders together within 2 hours, but sometimes this is not possible.
Local Deliveries
Local Deliveries are sent out on a first-come-first-served basis. There is no minimum order, but there is a fee for all orders that start at £10 and increase as you get further away from our centre.
We offer curbside/driveway drop-off only.
Additional charges may apply for large or heavy items.
