This magnificent native tree is often used to create colourful, formal hedging. The leaves emerge a deep, dark purple in spring, reddish-purple in summer, and finally turn a glowing copper in autumn. Like green beech, it holds onto its crisp, brown leaves throughout the winter, providing excellent screening and wind protection until new growth pushes them off in spring.

Fagus sylvatica Purple Beech is a striking deciduous tree with deep purple foliage that turns a rich copper in autumn, adding a splash of colour to your garden. It’s ideal for hedging or as a standalone feature tree. This beech thrives in sun or partial shade and prefers well-drained soil. Plant using Rootgrow and feed with Maxicrop Liquid Seaweed for optimal growth. Grows to an impressive 25m height and 15m spread if left unpruned.

Placing an Online Order with Goldcliff Garden Centre

Once you have added your items to the basket, you can continue to secure checkout and make payments via credit or debit card. All payments are processed via Apple Pay, Google Pay, Credit Card, Debit Card and PayPal.

Click and Collect

We offer a click-and-collect service for those who would like to collect from us directly. Collection times are between 8:30 am and 6 pm - 7 days a week.

We ask you to have a copy of your order confirmation to hand, either printed or on a mobile device.

Please do not come to collect your order unless you have received a ‘ready to be collected’ email, as it may not be ready immediately. We strive to get all click and collect orders together within 2 hours, but sometimes this is not possible.

Local Deliveries

Local Deliveries are sent out on a first-come-first-served basis. There is no minimum order, but there is a fee for all orders that start at £10 and increase as you get further away from our centre. 

We offer curbside/driveway drop-off only. 

Additional charges may apply for large or heavy items.
