Dog friendlyThis variety lives up to its name, providing a powerful contrast plant for borders and containers. The leaves are a spectacular shade of rich, deep red with dark veining, held neatly in a compact mound. The foliage is semi-evergreen to evergreen, ensuring strong colour interest even in winter. In early summer, the plant sends up slender, dark stems topped with delicate sprays of tiny, white flowers that rise elegantly above the foliage mound.
'Fire Chief' maintains a neat shape and is perfect for edging, mixed containers, or planting alongside silver and lime-green foliage for dramatic effect. It performs best in partial shade, as the strong afternoon sun can scorch the foliage, though the colour is best in bright light. To ensure the plant establishes a strong root system, we recommend using Rootgrow when planting. To maintain the deepest leaf colour and promote overall plant health, apply Maxicrop Original Seaweed regularly during the growing season.

Placing an Online Order with Goldcliff Garden Centre
Once you have added your items to the basket, you can continue to secure checkout and make payments via credit or debit card. All payments are processed via Apple Pay, Google Pay, Credit Card, Debit Card and PayPal.

Click and Collect
We offer a click-and-collect service for those who would like to collect from us directly. Collection times are between 8:30 am and 6 pm - 7 days a week.
We ask you to have a copy of your order confirmation to hand, either printed or on a mobile device.
Please do not come to collect your order unless you have received a ‘ready to be collected’ email, as it may not be ready immediately. We strive to get all click and collect orders together within 2 hours, but sometimes this is not possible.
Local Deliveries
Local Deliveries are sent out on a first-come-first-served basis. There is no minimum order, but there is a fee for all orders that start at £10 and increase as you get further away from our centre.
We offer curbside/driveway drop-off only.
Additional charges may apply for large or heavy items.
