This elegant topiary piece is a sophisticated choice for formal garden settings. As a quarter standard, it has a short, clear stem topped with a perfectly round, dense head, ideal for flanking entrances or patios without taking up too much vertical space. The tiny, neat, dark green leaves look almost identical to boxwood (Buxus), giving a classic, fine-textured look. However, Ilex crenata is the superior modern choice as it is generally highly resistant to box blight and box tree moth.

It looks particularly effective when planted in pairs in stylish containers. While hardy, container-grown specimens benefit from rich soil. To ensure the plant establishes a strong root system, we recommend using Rootgrow when planting. To maintain the density of the foliage and ensure the soil remains biologically active and healthy, especially in pots, apply Empathy After Plant Evergreen regularly throughout the growing season.

Placing an Online Order with Goldcliff Garden Centre

Once you have added your items to the basket, you can continue to secure checkout and make payments via credit or debit card. All payments are processed via Apple Pay, Google Pay, Credit Card, Debit Card and PayPal.

Click and Collect

We offer a click-and-collect service for those who would like to collect from us directly. Collection times are between 8:30 am and 6 pm - 7 days a week.

We ask you to have a copy of your order confirmation to hand, either printed or on a mobile device.

Please do not come to collect your order unless you have received a ‘ready to be collected’ email, as it may not be ready immediately. We strive to get all click and collect orders together within 2 hours, but sometimes this is not possible.

Local Deliveries

Local Deliveries are sent out on a first-come-first-served basis. There is no minimum order, but there is a fee for all orders that start at £10 and increase as you get further away from our centre. 

We offer curbside/driveway drop-off only. 

Additional charges may apply for large or heavy items.
