Musa basjoo, commonly known as Hardy Banana, is a vigorous, fast-growing perennial with large, lush, banana-like leaves that create a tropical feel in the garden. Although it produces banana-like fruits, they are not typically edible. This hardy banana can grow up to 3 meters tall and 2 meters wide, making it a striking focal point in any sunny spot.

It prefers well-drained, fertile soil and thrives in full sun to partial shade. Musa basjoo is renowned for its cold hardiness compared to other banana species, surviving winters in milder climates when protected with mulch around the base. Water regularly during dry spells to keep the soil moist but not waterlogged. Apply a balanced fertiliser in spring to encourage healthy growth. In colder areas, mulch heavily in winter or protect the crown to help it survive frost.

We only operate in a select area of East & West Sussex​ and are unable to send items across the UK.

Placing an Online Order with Goldcliff Garden Centre

Once you have added your items to the basket, you can continue to secure checkout and make payments via credit or debit card. All payments are processed via Apple Pay, Google Pay, Credit Card, Debit Card and PayPal. 

Please enter a billing address and, if required, a different delivery address. 

Click and Collect

We offer a click-and-collect service for those who would like to collect from us directly. Collection times are between 8:30 am and 6 pm - 7 days a week.

We ask you to have a copy of your order confirmation to hand, either printed or on a mobile device.

Please do not come to collect your order unless you have received a ‘ready to be collected’ email, as it may not be ready immediately. We strive to get all click and collect orders together within 2 hours, but sometimes this is not possible.

Local Deliveries

Local Deliveries are sent out on a first-come-first-served basis. There is no minimum order, but there is a fee for all orders that start at £10 and increase as you get further away from our centre. 

We offer curbside/driveway drop-off only. 

Additional charges may apply for large or heavy items.
