Create a delightful and charming display with the lovely Muscari azureum. Flowering very early in the spring, often from February, this variety is a little different from the common Grape Hyacinth, with more open, bell-shaped florets of a beautiful, pale azure-blue. It is a fantastic choice for creating a gentle river of colour at the front of borders, in rockeries, and under trees, where it will happily naturalise. For a wonderful early spring combination, plant it with the pure white blooms of Galanthus Woronowii (Snowdrops) or the sunny yellow of Crocus 'Dorothy' for a classic pastel-toned display. Now is the perfect time to plant for a beautiful spring. Choose any spot in sun or partial shade with well-drained soil, planting the bulbs about 10cm deep and 8cm apart.
