First introduced in 1946, 'Ena Harkness' remains one of the most iconic red roses ever bred. It is celebrated for its perfectly formed flowers that possess a rich, glowing crimson colour that does not fade in the sun. The scent is arguably its greatest attribute—a powerful, heady old-rose perfume that can be detected from several meters away.

The plant has an upright, relatively slender habit, making it an excellent choice for a formal rose bed or for cutting to bring indoors. One of its charming characteristics is that the large, heavy blooms tend to "nod" slightly on their stems, giving it a romantic, graceful appearance. It is a reliable repeat-flowerer, providing flushes of deep red from mid-summer through to the first frosts. To ensure it stays healthy and to give this heritage variety the best possible start, we strongly recommend using Rootgrow when planting.
