'Rambling Rector' is the quintessential rose for "wilder" areas of the garden or for covering large structures quickly. In mid-summer, it produces an incredible, snow-like explosion of thousands of small, creamy-white flowers, each with a bright cluster of golden stamens. The scent is one of its most famous features—a strong, spicy, clove-like perfume that can waft for a considerable distance.

This is a large and vigorous plant, capable of scrambling into old trees, covering large pergolas, or hiding unsightly buildings with ease. Its grey-green foliage is healthy and robust. While it only flowers once a year, the display is truly spectacular and is followed in autumn by a magnificent crop of small, round, red hips that are a favourite for birds. It is also exceptionally shade-tolerant and will perform well even on a north-facing wall or in poorer soils. To ensure it gets a strong start before it begins its rapid climb, we recommend using Rootgrow when planting.
