Salix caprea Pendula

Price £ 49.99

Short description

Salix caprea ‘Pendula’, also known as the Kilmarnock Willow, is a compact, deciduous tree with a weeping habit. It features arching branches that form an umbrella-like canopy, making it ideal as a feature plant in smaller gardens or containers. In early spring, before the leaves emerge, it produces eye-catching silvery catkins, followed by soft, green foliage.

This hardy ornamental tree prefers a sunny or lightly shaded position and moist but well-drained soil. Minimal pruning is required – simply remove any dead or crossing branches in late winter. Grows to around 2.5m tall and 1.5–2m wide.

Growing conditions:

  • Position: Full sun or partial shade

  • Soil: Moist, well-drained soil

  • Care: Prune lightly in late winter to maintain shape
