Create a truly regal and elegant display with the magnificent Tulipa 'Purissima'. As a Fosteriana or 'Emperor' tulip, it is prized for its enormous, beautifully formed flowers that stand on strong, weather-resistant stems. Flowering early in the season, from late March to April, the blooms open a soft primrose-yellow and mature to a luminous, pure white. 'Purissima' is also one of the best and most reliable tulips for perennialising, meaning it will return with a fantastic display year after year. For a simple but stunning combination, underplant them with a river of deep blue from Muscari armeniacum. They also look incredible planted with the rich purple of Crocus 'Flower Record' for an earlier splash of colour. Now is the perfect time to plant for a reliable show. Choose a sunny spot, planting the bulbs about 15cm deep and 15cm apart.
