A rather special evergreen shrub, very similar to buxus, but not suffering from Box Blight or Leaf Spot. Prefers a humus-rich but free-draining soil. Better suited to chalky soils than buxus. Prefers full sun to partial shade. Excellent container plant, use John Innes No. 3 compost. Top dress with Blood, Fish and Bone twice a year.

Ilex crenata 'Kinme', commonly known as Japanese Holly, is an elegant evergreen shrub that serves as an excellent alternative to Buxus, without the worry of Box Blight or Leaf Spot. Its dense, small-leaved foliage is perfect for topiary or as a neat hedge, making it a versatile choice for gardens. Thrives in humus-rich, well-drained soil and is more suited to chalky soils than Buxus. It prefers full sun to partial shade and makes an outstanding container plant. Use John Innes No. 3 compost, and for optimal growth, top dress with Blood, Fish and Bone twice a year. Incorporate Rootgrow at planting to enhance root development. Grows to approximately 2.5m by 2m.

Placing an Online Order with Goldcliff Garden Centre

Once you have added your items to the basket, you can continue to secure checkout and make payments via credit or debit card. All payments are processed via Apple Pay, Google Pay, Credit Card, Debit Card and PayPal.

Click and Collect

We offer a click-and-collect service for those who would like to collect from us directly. Collection times are between 8:30 am and 6 pm - 7 days a week.

We ask you to have a copy of your order confirmation to hand, either printed or on a mobile device.

Please do not come to collect your order unless you have received a ‘ready to be collected’ email, as it may not be ready immediately. We strive to get all click and collect orders together within 2 hours, but sometimes this is not possible.

Local Deliveries

Local Deliveries are sent out on a first-come-first-served basis. There is no minimum order, but there is a fee for all orders that start at £10 and increase as you get further away from our centre. 

We offer curbside/driveway drop-off only. 

Additional charges may apply for large or heavy items.
