Dog friendly'Golden Hornet' is arguably the best yellow-fruited Crab Apple available. In May, the tree is almost completely hidden under a canopy of large, cup-shaped white flowers that emerge from delicate pink buds. These flowers are highly attractive to bees and make 'Golden Hornet' an elite pollinator for many culinary apple varieties.
As autumn arrives, the tree produces a breathtaking crop of small, marble-sized apples in a brilliant, waxy yellow. These fruits are produced in such quantities that the branches can often be seen arching under their weight. Unlike many other varieties, the apples of 'Golden Hornet' persist on the branches long after the leaves have fallen, providing a stunning winter silhouette and a vital food source for birds. The fruit is also excellent for making traditional, clear yellow crab apple jelly. To help this tree establish quickly and develop a deep, drought-resistant root system, we recommend using Rootgrow when planting.

Placing an Online Order with Goldcliff Garden Centre
Once you have added your items to the basket, you can continue to secure checkout and make payments via credit or debit card. All payments are processed via Apple Pay, Google Pay, Credit Card, Debit Card and PayPal.

Click and Collect
We offer a click-and-collect service for those who would like to collect from us directly. Collection times are between 8:30 am and 6 pm - 7 days a week.
We ask you to have a copy of your order confirmation to hand, either printed or on a mobile device.
Please do not come to collect your order unless you have received a ‘ready to be collected’ email, as it may not be ready immediately. We strive to get all click and collect orders together within 2 hours, but sometimes this is not possible.
Local Deliveries
Local Deliveries are sent out on a first-come-first-served basis. There is no minimum order, but there is a fee for all orders that start at £10 and increase as you get further away from our centre.
We offer curbside/driveway drop-off only.
Additional charges may apply for large or heavy items.
