Dog friendlyThis variety is widely considered superior to the common Cherry Laurel for formal situations. It has a tighter, naturally conical habit and smaller, darker leaves that resemble those of the Bay tree. The deep green foliage contrasts beautifully with the reddish-purple stems, adding a touch of class to any garden boundary. In early summer, it produces slender spikes of fragrant white flowers, followed by small red berries that turn black in autumn, providing food for birds. It is incredibly hardy and tolerates heat, wind, and chalky soils better than many other evergreens.
It clips beautifully, making it the ideal choice for formal topiary (like cones or standards) or a razor-sharp hedge. To ensure the plants establish a strong and extensive root system, we recommend using Rootgrow when planting. To support strong structural growth and maintain the deep green colour of the foliage, apply Levington Fish, Blood & Bone in early spring.

Placing an Online Order with Goldcliff Garden Centre
Once you have added your items to the basket, you can continue to secure checkout and make payments via credit or debit card. All payments are processed via Apple Pay, Google Pay, Credit Card, Debit Card and PayPal.

Click and Collect
We offer a click-and-collect service for those who would like to collect from us directly. Collection times are between 8:30 am and 6 pm - 7 days a week.
We ask you to have a copy of your order confirmation to hand, either printed or on a mobile device.
Please do not come to collect your order unless you have received a ‘ready to be collected’ email, as it may not be ready immediately. We strive to get all click and collect orders together within 2 hours, but sometimes this is not possible.
Local Deliveries
Local Deliveries are sent out on a first-come-first-served basis. There is no minimum order, but there is a fee for all orders that start at £10 and increase as you get further away from our centre.
We offer curbside/driveway drop-off only.
Additional charges may apply for large or heavy items.
