Availability: Wednesday through Sunday, between 8:30am and 6pm. As our loyal customers know, we are open everyday and you will be required to work during the summer holidays and on bank holidays.

Working at Goldcliff
With over 30 years of experience, we are a family-run, independent destination for plant lovers. Located just outside of Lewes, we pride ourselves on our reputation for high-quality, unique plants, a wide range of terracotta, and expert advice. As we gear up for a busy Spring, we are looking for engaging people to join our close-knit team.

The Role
You won’t just be "working at a till"—you’ll be a key part of the customer journey. Your goal is to drive sales through exceptional service and advice, while ensuring the centre looks its absolute best.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Customer Experience: Greeting visitors, answering enquiries, and providing efficient service at the tills.
• Plant Care: Keeping our stock healthy and vibrant through weeding, pruning, watering, and potting.
• Merchandising: Processing new stock and creating high-standard visual displays that inspire our customers.
• Operations: Ensuring the shop and shelves remain clean, tidy, and fully replenished.
• Physical Support: This is an active role! You will regularly assist customers with heavy or bulky items like compost bags, large pots, and specimen plants.
• Deliveries: For the right candidate, there is the opportunity to be one of our delivery drivers, transporting products directly to our customers’ doorsteps.

About You

• A People Person: You have excellent communication skills and a natural desire to help others.

• Resilient: You enjoy the fresh air and are happy to work outdoors in all weather conditions, come rain or shine.

• Active & Energetic: You thrive in a fast-paced environment and are comfortable with the physical nature of the job (heavy lifting).

• A Team Player: You can take the initiative when working alone but also love being part of a team.

• Passionate: Horticultural knowledge is a huge plus, but a genuine interest in gardening and a willingness to learn are essential.
